Head of Financial Accounting Local Authority

A 4 months+ opportunity for a Head of Financial Accounting has arisen with the local authorities in Nuneaton. Pay rate of £650 per day PAYE or £750 per day Umbrella The purpose of the position is to direct and manage the finance team in key areas of activity: Preparation and closure of statutory accounts for both the Council and overview of the West Yorkshire Pension Fund. Provide a range of corporate activities supporting the business functions of the Council such as maintaining/ reconciling corporate control accounts, banking arrangements and completing Government statutory returns Provide timely and accurate information, advice and guidance to elected Members, senior management and service managers. To support the Director of Finance in meeting the Council's corporate arrangements for governance and performance management. Provide highly specialised advice on the Council's Capital Investment Plan and related activity to the Treasury Management and Exchequer function. Provide a range of corporate activities supporting the business functions of the Council such as VAT advice, asset register maintenance and Council Tax and Business Rates collection fund accounting.Skills and Experience: Preparation and closure of statutory accounts for both the Council and overview of the West Yorkshire Pension Fund. Provide a range of corporate activities supporting the business functions of the Council such as maintaining/ reconciling corporate control accounts, banking arrangements and completing Government statutory returns. Provide timely and accurate information, advice and guidance to elected Members, senior management and service managers. To support the Director of Finance in meeting the Councils corporate arrangements for governance and performance management.Hours of work are 9am till 5pm, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday. This role in US Dollars has a minimum of $792 to a maximum of $914. In British Pounds it has a minimum of £650 to a maximum of £750. In Australian Dollars it has a minimum of $1,172 to a maximum of $1,352.
