A requirement has arisen for a Financial Controller for an industrial company based in the Borders covering a broad range of accounting requirements.
Duties will include the preparation of monthly management accounts, year-end accounts, cash-flow forecasts, budgeting and variance analysis, costing and VAT returns.
You will also be responsible for credit control, customer invoicing, dealing with suppliers’ invoices and liaising with the board.
Whilst an accounting qualification is not essential, accounting experience in an industrial company is required. You will deal with stock control and depreciation and also liaise with HMRC. Ideally, you will have experience of Sage and Excel.
Another important aspect of your duties will include administration, probably covering two days per week and accounting three days a week. Due to the importance of energy, an important part of your administration duties will include liaising with energy suppliers.
